Ngaitai Iwi Authority is in the process of compiling a register of the people of Ngaitai, those who are living at Torere, those living outside of Torere, nation and world-wide.

The reasons for compiling this register are:

1. To provide a full list of names.
2. To provide a full count of Ngaitai People.
3. To provide data for the Iwi Authority.
4. To provide localities of where Ngaitai people reside.
5. To provide a statistical basis for the Iwi Authority.
